Utah Trip

I have not had the energy to blog lately. Partly because life has been so busy, and partly because I'm pregnant with number 3! Over the course of August and September we found out I was pregnant, moved, started a new job, visited Utah, started preschool, started teaching classes again, started a Let's Play music class, celebrated mine and Kirk's birthdays, and received a new calling. Maybe it's not a lot, but being exhausted and nauseous through all of it has sure made it feel that way. We are very excited for another addition to our family. I have to admit that it was more of a leap of faith than the other two were, but we're so excited and can't wait to meet this new baby!

Here are a few highlights from my trip to Utah:

Meeting our new niece/cousin Isabelle

Celebrating my Mom's 50th Birthday

Meeting our new nephew/cousin Oliver

Fancy Nancy/John Deere Party with the Dimond's

Touring the Up House

Welcoming Uncle Jason home from his mission

Going to the State Fair

A call to the Fire Department

We were about to celebrate my Dad's birthday when the carbon monoxide alarm went off. All 20 of us had to evacuate the house while the fire department came to check it out. It turns out the detector my parents had was over 10 years old and went bad.

Celebrating my Dad's 50th Birthday

That night my parents had all ten of their children under the same roof! Add to that 2 children in law, 6 grandchildren, and 2 cousins and we had a full house! The only person missing was Kirk.

Here's a picture of most of us (Blake, Nathan, Maelie, and Kirk missing)

It was a crazy adventure flying across the country and spending two weeks without Kirk! His companionship and assistance was greatly missed by me!

I loved spending time with both of our families. It felt as if we had never left. I sure miss living close to everyone! It was sad to say good-bye, but coming home to Kirk was a sweet reunion.

As soon as we returned, both of my girls came down with a virus. It seems like every time we come back from a big trip like this they do. I'm sure the constant influx of sugar and sleep deprivation played a big role in it :).
