Graduation

Kirk graduated with his Master's of Science in Landscape Architecture on August 13th. We're so proud of him! He really worked hard and did a great job balancing school, work, family time and church callings.

I took the girls to the graduation ceremony by myself . . . such fun!

This is them sitting (not on seats) for the few minutes that they did. The rest of the two hours were spent climbing up and down the stairs, out in the halls running around, dancing, bathroom trips, and running around more. Luci even found another friend to play hide an seek with. Luckily we were there for the five seconds when they said Kirk's name and degree.

Great job Kirky!!

Keep reading the post below-it's new too :)

Moving

Something Old

At the beginning of August we said good-bye to our first home in PA (second floor in pic above) and set off for somewhere else to live. We forgot how much work moving was, and wondered how we ever moved across the country. Lucky for us, the girls were great helpers with the cleaning.

On the inside of our coat closet door, we recorded our girl's heights throughout our time living there. It was really sad to go over them with a magic eraser when I was cleaning. I did snap a picture before I did though. I can't believe how much our girls grew while we lived there.

Something New

So here's our new place. Well kind of. It's a lot older than our other place. It's a front to back split level condo with wood paneling on the walls, floor board heaters, possible lead in the paint, and lots of spiders! It even has a way creepy crawl space that goes under the whole second level giving our place a nice musky, wet-dog smell :) I didn't really like our place at first, but now that we're mostly moved in, and we've met some nice neighbors, it's starting to grow on me. I'm sure I'll love it even more when we spray for spiders and have the chipping paint fixed. On the plus side, it's bigger than our other place, and has a separate garage unit.

In our kitchen window, between the screen and the window, we had a pet spider waiting for us to move in. Luci loves it, and named him Bobby. Kirk tried to get rid of him once (per my pleading), but he's a fast spider and has a hiding spot we can't reach. So for now we're enjoying our first pet.

We also have a spider living in our mail box. So creepy! Every time I get the mail I carefully peek in, grab the mail by the top corner and shake it off just to make sure he's not on it. Well, today when I went to get the mail, the spider wasn't there. I thought he'd left for a new home until a flipped a piece of mail over to find a spider three times as big as him, eating him!!! I need Kirk to come kill it right now! I'm not even attempting to grab the mail out!

Something Borrowed

When we moved out here, we fit all of our stuff into a 16 foot truck. Since we did, we decided we could probably squeeze it all in a 16 footer again--to save money. Fortunately, the Lord knew better and sent us a tender mercy. When we showed up they didn't have our truck back so they gave us a 26 foot truck for the same price. We ended up filling it all the way to the end. I can't believe how much stuff we've accumulated since we moved here!

We had to move on a Monday morning and were a little worried that people couldn't come to help. We were so pleasantly surprised when 10 men from our ward showed up to help us out! It went so quickly! We also had some lovely ladies watching our kids, taking Luci to ballet, helping me clean and pack, and feeding us. We felt so blessed! Thank you everyone!!!

Something Blue

The sky was blue the whole time we were moving. Later that evening we had a huge rain storm! We're so grateful the rain held out. Another tender mercy for sure!
