My baby is four months old. Where did that time go? It's amazing how it can seem like just yesterday she was born, yet forever since I've known her.
Clara,
We love having you in our family! Not a day goes by that you don't make us smile. You're a tough one to nurse sometimes, but you make up for it by sleeping through the night. You know who you are and you know what you want. You communicate so much with your eyes. People will often comment on how you don't seem to blink. You keep your eyes wide open as if to not miss out on anything. Sometimes when your sleeping, I pick you back up out of your cradle and snuggle you. I hold you close and smell your sweet baby smell and kiss your soft baby skin. Time goes by fast and soon you'll be grown. But just like Luci, you'll always be my baby.
Love,
Mom
Aunt Stephanie sent the girls these awesome Brasil shirts. Luci was so excited to have a matching shirt with her sister. She wanted her Dad to match too so she picked out his green shirt for him to wear.
On Saturday, we told Luci we'd buy fireworks if she took a nap. It must have been a pretty good incentive because she took a nap for the first time in months.
That night, when Kirk went to the store to buy them, he found a 'mega firework' that really caught his eye. Because the picture on the package was deceiving he thought is was the the big ones that explode in the air. All excited, he told the cashier how these fireworks are illegal in Utah and that he can't wait to do them. The cashier just looked at him and said, "Oh. Well, if you go to New York they're even more lenient with their firework laws."
When Kirk got home we set up a picnic blanket ready to watch our private fire work show. Nervously, he set the firework out in the parking lot, lit it, then ran back to safety, thinking it was about to explode 20 feet in the air. Much to our disappointment it turned out to be your typical Utah firework. We did get a good laugh though!
Here's Kirk with his "Mega Firework":
Here's what it turned out to be:

That looks so fun. Clara is so cute. I wish our city would have a touch a truck day. Owen would love that.
Haha that is too funny about the firework. I love your letter to Clara. I can't wait to meet her next month.
That story is hilarious about the fireworks. I would mock for, well, from here on out. Good story! And that Clara is so stinkin' cute I might have to fly out there just to pinch her little cheeks. Okay, maybe not for that reason, but to hold her, YES! So adorable!
