As of today I am 38 weeks pregnant, and I already feel over due. Luci was two weeks early, making today feel like my due date. Not to mention I am bigger with this pregnancy then I was with her. A lot of my maternity shirts are too short, and my maternity pants are all tight. The other day I was so grouchy because when I went into the doctor I was only dilated to a 1 (with Luci I was a 2+ at this point) and had gained more weight than I thought I would. I felt like I was going to be eternally pregnant. It's amazing how the last few weeks of pregnancy seem to drag on forever, but the second they're here time flies by. For now, I'll try to focus on getting things done and sleeping through the night (minus the 4-5 trips to the bathroom).

Laundry Day
At our house laundry day means Luci changing her clothes four or more times because she's so excited about how many options she has again. It also means more laundry. No matter the length of time she has each outfit on, she manages to get something on it (food, marker, pen, pee etc).
Today after the fourth outfit change, I was about to get mad at her when I over heard her talking to herself while changing her clothes saying, "I am having a great day!".
I guess I just have to accept that this is her hobby. I can't blame her either, I love clothes too.

My Three Year Old
It's hard to believe how fast the time has gone, but Luci is officially 3 years old! Here is a little bit about this girl I love so much:
Favorite Color: Pink. Everything for her birthday had to be pink (balloons, tablecloth, crepe paper)
Favorite Activities: Hide and Seek, Legos, reading books, doing homework with Dad, Helping Mom cook, dancing, and playing with friends.
Favorite Foods: Cereal, cheese, chocolate milk, cucumbers, oranges, grapefruits, eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes, peanut butter, and yogurt. (she has become less picky lately and I'm loving it!)
Favorite Songs: ABC's, I am a Child of God, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and Everybody Dance Now.
Luci is such a sweetheart and very sensitive to the needs of others. She's great at cheering me up and kissing my owies better. Although sometimes stubborn, she is good at listening and I'm able to reason with her most of the time. She's my drama queen and I often find her practicing faces in the mirror. One of my favorite things is when she tells me she loves me out of the blue.

Luci was so excited to open her presents, but I made her wait until after breakfast before she could. The cradle we gave her I found by a dumpster in really good shape. I washed it up and thought she would love it. But, since it wasn't wrapped, she was sure that it wasn't a present and therefore wasn't excited about it. Oh well, at least it was free!

Birthday breakfast: Hashbrowns, eggs, and a snowman shaped pancake (use your imagination).

Luci was very excited about her very own umbrella.

One of Luci's favorite things was making her cake. She had a lot of fun, but it definitely took a lot of patience on my part. By the time we were done, the kitchen was a disaster and she was covered with batter and frosting. She insisted on using her own beaters to mix the cake batter (don't worry I thoroughly washed them before she used them).

This was our first attempt. I knew there was a reason I bought three cake mixes.

And here is her cake. If you can't tell, it is supposed to be a lego. It's hard to believe I took a cake decorating class. It's been so long I don't remember anything I learned.

When I went to check on Luci about about an hour after putting her to bed, this is what I found. She fights sleep until she absolutely can't anymore so it is pretty common to find her with a book on her face or a toy in her hand (all things she gets into after I put her to bed).

The next day we had a lunch party with friends. Per Luci's request we had chicken nuggets, French fries, chocolate milk, apple slices and carrots (I threw those last two in). Luci had a lot of fun playing with friends and ate way too many cupcakes. .

Snow Storm
We had a big storm on Saturday and got over 14 inches of snow. Earlier in the week it had snowed a little and Luci begged me to go play in it. I put it off for a while and then finally got us all bundled up to go out. The only problem was that by the time we got out there the snow had completely melted. So, I was glad to look out the window on Saturday and see an opportunity to redeem myself. It was a lot of fun, even though I ended up carrying Luci most of the time because the snow was too deep to walk in. The funnest part was playing on the playground. The slides were super slippery and snow pants made it even slicker. The best part was landing in a big pile of snow at the bottom.

New Do

So I really want to do something new with my hair. Mainly because the haircut I just got is yucky. It has a lot of choppy layers on one side and none on the other, and something needs to be done with it. I have also been growing out my natural color and want to cut off as much of the died ends as possible. I found this picture and thought it was cute, but I'm not sure if it will look good on me. What do you think? Please be honest, I won't be offended.

Quick Update
Our camera battery is bad and I haven't been able to take pictures for a while. Luckily, we found a good deal on-line and have one coming in the mail. As of now, I have no pictures to post, but here is what's been going on in our lives:
Kirk is super busy with school again. He is also participating in a competition with a few other students where they are designing a city scape for an area in San Diego and competing against other students across the country. There is money involved in winning, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Luci is going through the "Why" stage hard core. It's tolerable the first half of the day, but by the end of the day I am going crazy. She has also been very artistic lately. For family night we each drew pictures of the commandments we talked about. Kirk drew a picture of our family in stick figures. The next day when Luci was eating breakfast she asked me to grab her a black marker. When I asked her why, she informed me that Daddy had forgotten to draw legs on me and her (he just drew the triangle skirt). So I got her the black marker and she drew legs and feet on us.
And as for me, I am getting large with child (34 weeks). The baby is measuring small so I have had a couple of extra ultrasounds over the past month to make sure she is growing. So far things look good! I can't wait to meet this little girl. I feel like I have so much to do before she comes, but also feel like it couldn't come soon enough. My due date is the Friday before Kirk's spring break, so I am really hoping that I can have her that night.
Well that's about all I can think of for now. Hopefully our battery will come in the mail soon so I can post a picture next time.

Accidental Hangover
So, I didn't really have a hangover, but I did accidentally sample the forbidden. On Sunday, Kirk's teacher hosted a dinner at her house for the graduate students. Of course they had plenty of wine and beer which I easily avoided. What I didn't know was that I should be avoiding the chocolates too. They had these chocolate balls that seemed as if they were filled with peanut butter. They were really delicious, so I kept eating them. A little while later I over heard some people talking about the bourbon balls they brought. I thought, 'bourbon, that sounds like it could be an alcoholic drink.' Meanwhile Luci kept running back to the table to grab more, and Kirk not realizing what they were allowed her to.
When we left I asked Kirk if bourbon was something alcoholic, and sure enough it is. I was so paranoid that my daughter and I were drunk. I started looking it up on-line to see how much damage we had done, and the only thing I really found were warnings on giving these to children and driving after eating too many. Then the thought hit me that my baby is going to have fetal alcohol syndrome. Yes, I am a paranoid person.
Anyways, a few days later I realize that it is kind of funny and I'm not as worried about fetal alcohol syndrome. This was just a wake-up call to my naiveté. Next party I will be more wary about what we eat.
