Everyone and their dog has told me that Clara looks just like Kirk. I actually haven't had anyone tell me that she looks like me. Good thing her Daddy is so cute! Do you see the resemblance?

Clara loves to be swaddled when she sleeps. Luci never really liked being swaddled, so it's kind of fun to have a baby that lets me swaddle her.

Garden

"The Prophet said to plant a garden . . . so that's what we'll do."
In case you didn't know, that's a primary song. I had never heard it before I married Kirk. He loves plants and gardening so much that it has become his theme song. When we first moved here, Kirk was so excited to find out that the park behind our apartments has community garden plots. As soon as we found out how to sign up we got on the waiting list. Lucky for us, we were able to get our own 300 square foot plot. So on Monday we had Family Home Evening in the morning, at the garden (I bet you can't guess what our opening song was!). Luckily for me, Kirk not only loves to garden, but he's good at it, and has taken over doing it! So I just get to sit back, pull a few weeds here and there, and enjoy home grown tomatoes.

Since Kirk wants Luci to love gardening just as much as him (and because she's a Daddy's girl), he bought her a pink princess shovel, gloves, and watering pail.

Clara slept in her stroller the whole time and I didn't get a picture of her. So here's a cute one of her just yesterday. She was smiling and cooing until I got the camera out. I kind of caught one in this picture though.

Today is her 7 week birthday and she now weighs 9 lbs 13 oz! I can't believe how the time flies and how fast they grow! I am starting to get better sleep and my hormones have finally leveled out which makes having two kids so much more enjoyable. I love them both so much!

Blessing

On Sunday Kirk blessed our baby girl. He is a wonderful Daddy and I'm so grateful he lives worthy to hold the Priesthood.
It was a beautiful spring day, and we were able to get some pictures outside.

We have also had Kirk's family in town this past weekend. It was a lot of fun to show off our new baby and spend time with them. Luci loved the extra attention she got. She started wearing this hat around so she could be just like her Grandpa.

photo shoot

When I realized that we didn't have a photography studio in the JCpenny by us (not the greatest place, but affordable), I decided to have my own photo shoot of Clara. It didn't go well. My bed was peed and pooped on, and most of the pictures turned out like this . . .

After a bunch of pictures like that, the rest started looking like this . . .

Luci kept sticking her head right in front of the camera and posing. (jealous?)
This is the only picture that really turned out, in a funny kind of way.

Later Luci wanted us to take pictures of her jumping. One of her talents is jumping. She can jump high and far. Our neighbors below us are so impressed too (at least I'm assuming that's what the banging on the ceiling means :) ).

And this is just anther random picture of Clara's curly hair. Whenever we get her hair wet it's curly. It dries fairly straight though.
